Too often we speak at one another rather than with one another, turning conversations into performances instead of exchanges. Real learning requires something quieter and more demanding: listening with curiosity, respecting perspectives we may not share, and allowing disagreement without dismissal. When we lower the volume and raise our willingness to listen, we create the conditions where understanding (and progress) can actually begin.
